This is a portrait based on Patrick Rofthuss's "Name of the Wind" series, (IT'S GREAT YOU SHOULD READ IT). But, if you are on this page you probably already have. Anyways, this is supposed to be Kvothe during his University days. His hair was a bitch! But hey, I'm still learning. Like, really still learning... SO! tell me what you think! Except about the background, (or lack there-of) because I'm not really ready to tackle backgrounds yet. 
I'm thinking of painting another character from the book, but I can't decide between Bast and Elodin. Ideas?

Such an amazing piece of art! I do absolutely love it. The hair is wonderful, the colors are mesmerizing and wisely chosen, and the eyes, god, the eyes are perfect. They hold and show and make tangible all his power and his music, his Ruh heritage and his university education, his anger and his compassion, his gentleness and his ocean-wide pain, his desperation, resignation and just a glimmer of hope for hope.
I could not in a lifetime have painted anything as beautiful as this!
But you ask for suggestions, too, and if anything, I would have shifted the geometry - anatomy - of his face just a bit, like so:

It is an older painting of yours, and I notice your other works are perfect in this very regard, so I am sure you are aware of it.
